FCCN, FCT digital services
TheFCCNis the digital services unit of theFCT - Foundation for Science and Technology, whose purpose is to contribute to the development of Science, Technology and Knowledge in Portugal.
We provide high-speed Internet connectivity and IT services for the Portuguese higher education and research system.
More than six hundred thousand students, researchers and staff can rely on our national education network every day.
As a technological partner of these communities, at FCCN we provide more than 20 shared digital services that aim to support the development of Education, Science and Technology in Portugal, contributing to the excellence of national education and research.

University of Coimbra
Founded in 1290, the University of Coimbra (UC) was the first university in Portugal and is one of the oldest in the world.
The UC's structure includes eleven organic teaching and research units: eight Faculties (Letters, Law, Medicine, Sciences and Technology, Pharmacy, Economics, Psychology and Educational Sciences, Sports Sciences and Physical Education), the Interdisciplinary Research Institute, the College of Arts and the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, the UC is today a living element focused on building the future.
Due to its international prestige, the recognized quality of its teaching staff, a strong commitment to research and innovation, as well as its transfer to the community, the various cultural and sporting initiatives it promotes and the cosmopolitan character of its academy, the University of Coimbra is today a promoter of change and innovation, assuming a leading position in the process of creating and disseminating knowledge.
