João Nuno Ferreira

Since March 2016, João Nuno Ferreira has been the general coordinator of the FCCN, a unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology IP (FCT), having been a member of the FCT Board of Directors, with responsibility for the activities of the FCCN unit, Computer Services, the Science and Technology Archive and Open Access. Between January and October 2013 - the date on which this entity was integrated into FCT - he was Chairman of the Executive Board of the Foundation for National Scientific Computation (FCCN), having previously been Technical Director of the same institution (1993 - 2013). Throughout this period he was responsible for various national and international services and projects. More recently, he has focused on the services and projects of the Science, Technology and Society Network (RCTS), namely the implementation of fiber optic connections. In addition to this, she has followed the various stages of RCTS's development as an advanced platform to support science and its integration into the European context of academic networks, especially the GÉANT network.

He graduated in Systems Engineering and Computer Science in December 1991 from the University of Minho. In September 1993 he completed a Master's degree in Distributed Systems, Computer Networks and Data Communication at University College London and obtained an MBA from the Porto School of Management at the University of Porto in 2003.
